Summer League 2011
This year will be a first for Seacoast Ultimate! Summer League, which has historically been a co-ed league, is truly going "mixed" to better the game for everyone and accommodate more ultimate players!
The population of people who have come to summer league games over the years has always been gender-skewed with approximate a 3:1 gender ratio of men to women. Last year we couldn’t accommodate the number of men wishing to sign up for the league and had to (another first) turn people away. We didn’t like doing that.
So Summer League will now consist of both a co-ed "mixed" division and an open division. The mixed division will consists of teams comprised of equal numbers of men and women and points are played with either a 4:3 or 3:4 gender ratio (offense decides). The open division has no gender restrictions and can accommodate those who wish not to play mixed and those who fail to register before the mixed league is full. There are plans for 6 mixed squads and an anticipated 4 open squads. For the official description from USA Ultimate of mixed and open divisions see USA Ultimate Club Division.
Both the mixed and open divisions will be playing simultaneously (same night, same time) to maintain the social aspects of the league.

If you would like more information than provided in the introduction to summer league please send an e-mail to: Seacoast Ultimate.
Our ability to run a summer league is in part due to the support of USA Ultimate, the non-profit governing body of Ultimate. USA Ultimate provides us insurance coverage for the use of fields but requires every player to be individually registered with USA Ultimate either on their own (current members) or through summer league. Through summer league is a $10 cost per individual. If you play more than just summer league in a USA Ultimate sanctioned events then it usually makes sense to just join USA Ultimate.
Thank you for your interest. Unfortunately Summer League registration for 2011 is closed.
